About Me

I’m Natalia. And this blog is my flow zone. We all have one (or more) but sometimes it’s hard to discover yours. Finding that thing/activity that has that “I don’t know what” that takes over you until you completely lose track of time and want to dedicate to it exclusively, sometimes is the result of research trial and error, a risky decision or – as it happened in my case- it’s just the result of coincidence.

This thing of being a blogger crossed my path when I least expected and, although Colorclap was born very naively, it aroused my curiosity and develops through exploration, leading me to “see” with new eyes my day by day and letting me rediscover things that I once took for obvious.

So here I am, letting myself -or at least trying- go with the flow, giving life eternal through photos and words to those moments that are worth collecting.

Yo soy Natalia.

(It’s going to be a long one… sorry for that) I opened this space almost two years ago after a simple question was asked by my boyfriend: “Did u ever think about having a blog?”, to be honest I wasn’t sure what a blog was, I never followed any and my knowledge about the topic was zero. He is a programmer and web designer and at that moment he was looking for opportunities to practice his skills, so I said “Lest do it!” and started my research about all this “blogger think”.

I was shocked. How I didn’t know nothing about it. Since the first moment, I was trapped by this world, I started to follow some bloggers and found how complex but gratifying it could be. So the decision was easy, I definitely wanted a blog but I had problem, I didn’t have any kind of idea about what to do it about.

As a good academic girl I did my research and draw some conclusion: the main point was (or I thought it was) to find a topic, something that I really love and enjoy. So I left my mind to do its job and the answer was obvious: nailart!

At that moment I had free time, I loved to paint my nails twice a week, I used to do my manicure a least once at month with professionals, rarely washed a dish (or any other kind of domestic job) and I was living with my little sister who was studying photography, so having a blog about my nail’s designs looked as the greatest idea.

But things changed. I had to leave my country… my lots of free time, my professional manicure once a month and my photographer sister… to start a completely new life, in a new country, by myself… washing dishes (AKA ruining my nails), working and studying full time and being unable to take good pictures to my own hands (it’s impossible, believe me, I tried everything… you’d need a least three hands), and that made me miserable because my first rule for this space was make it a beautiful one. A blog that makes me smile.

Anyway, the handsblog was losing its point. I didn’t want to close it but I was letting it die. I wasn’t posting with the frequency that I wished, and the quality of everything just was going down… this wasn’t my dreamed space at all. But something good happened in all this “blog chaos”, I reaffirmed my passion about writing so I was determined to find the way to make it work.

That’s how I started my research one more time, with a different perspective, I didn’t just want to know about blogs, I wanted to find blogs that made me smile, and there was when The Discovery happened: You don’t have to have a topic for a blog, you can have a blog about you and everything that makes shine your life. So that was it! I just had to make this space a real space about me, about EVERYTHING that I want to share! (because that was the common point in the bloggers that I love, they weren’t about fashion, make up, recipes, nailart or anything specific, they just were there sharing a little bit of everything about their lives… they were lifestyle bloggers).

Thank God the name “Colorclap” let the opened door to readapt everything, and even when I know that I going to lose some followers that are here just for the nails (I sincerely apologize to all of you, but I promise some nailart posts from time to time if you decided to stay because its something that I’m still enjoying – and I don’t delete anything, you still can see all here) I think this desicion is better than just to close the blog because I really want to write, and life always gives you things that are worth to be shared.

So, lets do it!
