About Me

I’m Natalia. And this blog is my flow zone. We all have one (or more) but sometimes it’s hard to discover yours. Finding that thing/activity that has that “I don’t know what” that takes over you until you completely lose track of time and want to dedicate to it exclusively, sometimes is the result of research trial and error, a risky decision or – as it happened in my case- it’s just the result of coincidence.

This thing of being a blogger crossed my path when I least expected and, although Colorclap was born very naively, it aroused my curiosity and develops through exploration, leading me to “see” with new eyes my day by day and letting me rediscover things that I once took for obvious.

So here I am, letting myself -or at least trying- go with the flow, giving life eternal through photos and words to those moments that are worth collecting.

Yo soy Natalia.

No me pregunten.

For some unexplainable reason, my brain decided to occupy a lot of its space with my childhood memories. Irrelevant things of my early life, with a very hight level of detail, come to my mind whenever they want. So, to counteract the effect of the small space left for my short-term memory, I developed a true and deep love for lists.

I do lists for EVERYTHING. The market, the week, holidays, work, life. EVERYTHING. And now, that I live in a country with seasons, I decided to also make that kind of list too. So, it’s spring’s turn (a cross between “Wish List” and “To Do List”).

I rarely complete all the items in my lists, but I will make an experiment trying to prove if doing this public, makes enough pressure to put a “check” -at least- in the half of it:

  1. Finally have my mini-kitchen-garden: Fran and I moved into our current apartment in September, it is a tiny little space but has a super cozy balcony. Since we arrived there were two dying plants, I decided to rescue and, without noticing it, this plant thing caught me. Now I have six loved green beauties on my balcony, but neither is edible. So I decided to plant cooking herbs to use daily in our kitchen. Pretty, useful and economical.
  2. Finish knitting my sweater: Last October, I decided to learn how to knit with two needles. Of course, I couldn’t start the easy way as everyone with a simple scarf. No. I wanted a sweater. So Lolita (my Spanish Fairy Godmother) accepted my madness and began to teach me. Winter is over and my sweater is still on the needles. Only missing the sleeves. Nevertheless, I’m ready to finish it! Even when I will have to wait a whole year to use it.
  3. Make my own birthday cake: My sister is a Pastry Chef, so never, in my whole life, I’ve made my birthday cake. Until now. This is the year.  I decided to throw myself into the adventure. No guaranteed results.
  4. Catch up with the tv shows: I never was the tv show kind of person (in fact, television was abolished in my life when I went to college), until I started hanging out with Fran, and he came with Netflix, including it into my life. He’s so awesome that has watched again a complete series only for me to watch it. And now I’m completely into that world. So my plan for this spring is to finish the last season of Breaking Bad, catch up with House of Cards, finishing Vikings, start Sherlock Holmes, and watch the upcoming Games of Thrones season. Ahhh and Fuller House. Everything without missing the sunlight.
  5. Go to a new place in Spain: I’ve said this since I came to live here, but the truth is that I haven’t done that because, to my surprise, traveling around Spain is more expensive than to travel to other european countries. Do not ask me. Anyway, Praga, Amsterdam and Berlin, will have to wait for me, because I decided that my next investment will be inside this country that has treated me so well.
  6. Take pictures: Here is not much to explain. I always say that I will do it and always postpone it. But no more. Even if I have to take pictures of my place, I will use my camera -at least- once a week (and I have my serious face right now).
  7. Read a book: As a little girl I used to read a lot. Every night before bedtime I read. Until I got into college. Study two careers simultaneously, replacing my books for a cluster of guides which stacked up to half a meter each semester. I got my degrees three years ago, so I think it’s time to go back to books. Any recommendations?

We’ll see how this is going, for now… Welcome Spring! Please try to take as much as you can, here the summer is not easy.
