About Me

I’m Natalia. And this blog is my flow zone. We all have one (or more) but sometimes it’s hard to discover yours. Finding that thing/activity that has that “I don’t know what” that takes over you until you completely lose track of time and want to dedicate to it exclusively, sometimes is the result of research trial and error, a risky decision or – as it happened in my case- it’s just the result of coincidence.

This thing of being a blogger crossed my path when I least expected and, although Colorclap was born very naively, it aroused my curiosity and develops through exploration, leading me to “see” with new eyes my day by day and letting me rediscover things that I once took for obvious.

So here I am, letting myself -or at least trying- go with the flow, giving life eternal through photos and words to those moments that are worth collecting.

Yo soy Natalia.

Usually, we see nail designs with colors that make high contrast because they create impact and catch the attention. However, I really love the way subtle combinations look so I had to do this post.

When I was looking for colors that made low contrast, many ideas came to mind: red-orange, lilac-light blue, yellow-mustard… but I finally decided for red-fuchsia. To combine the colors I made a really simple pattern of triangles, just switching the shape and alternating the color in every single nail. I let the accessories take care of the contrast, using as a focal turquoise ring that works very well with the nail art. I hope you like it. Nat

Low Contrast

1. Always, the first step is painting with a base coat to protect your natural nails.

Low Contrast

2. Paint with red polish alternating nails.

Low Contrast

3. Paint the remaining nails with the fuchsia polish.

3. Pinta las uñas restantes con color fucsia.

Low Contrast

4. Remove the excess of nail polish from your fingers using a brush or a cotton swap and let it dry.

Low Contrast

5. When the color dries completely, use magic tape making a mask to form a triangle in every single nail, just remember that the shape has to be in the same direction in the red ones and inverted in all the fuchsias nails.

Low Contrast

6. Paint every pattern with the opposite base polish color: the fuchsia with red…

7. … and the red with fuchsia.

7. … y las rojas con fucsia.

8. Wait a few minutes and then you can remove the magic tape. Be very careful but don’t worry if you miss any spot or have an imperfection, you can fix it by hand whit a slim brush.

Low Contrast

9. This is an optional step, if you want to give it an extra touch use a red glitter nail polish over the red segments in every single nail. This also helps to hide any border imperfections.

Low Contrast

10. Finally, use a top coat for an extra shine and long lasting finish.
